Why its important to be smart and not shrewd

So I had to write this so that we can share some of our views..I love smart people and most people do..We know how important it is to be smart in our life and so on and so forth..This is purely my viewpoint. I love when a person is smart and build in ideas/technology/shares own opinion, does good thing for humanity etc.. But very often it feels odd when I come across extremely smart people who is also very shrewd..Is it required to be smart and shrewd at the same time? Well lets discuss..

If you ask me I only like the quality smartness and I wont like a person having a blend of smart and shrewdness..The reason is smartness is naive and its honest and its a part of the nature of the person which is original..He/she takes smart decision based on their conscience.Shrewd people sometimes tend to be opportunistic, they also may shift gear given a situation change..Smart people get deals done based on their intellectual approach or behavior which has an immediate effect on the other person..

I will never favor for a smart person going into the direction of shrewd simply because that will spoil or disrupt the naive smartness the person has..You dont have to be shrewd to build a company, you have to smart as simple as that..Talk about eminent silicon valley entrepreneurs, most of them who have touched our life by building a product or service are smart people but they are not necessarily shrewd..You can be so assured of their smartness when their company scales so high and yet the entrepreneur never get into the mode of "I am a billionaire and now I can do everything" approach..They constantly keep on innovating new product or new technology..They dont show or behave shrewd in front of billions of people whose life has been touched by their product or technology. They seem to be accountable to the world and behave very patiently to even a common person's querry..

Smart + shrewd people or entrepreneur just turns me off simply because I only like a naive quality called smartness, accompanied with shrewd act is total no no..Because when a person is shrewd it give a negative connotation about the person which kills his smart attractive quality..

If you see Sillicon Valley entrepreneurs they are very passionate about their ideas or the technology  and they will never compromise anything at the cost of losing it sanity..When I say sanity it mean they will never get into anything which is in non conformity to the product..If you see these companies they are very process oriented which means these companies have very less room for any bureaucratic red tappisom..This also implies their smartness is only accessible via legal means..

I have always been in favor of saving the smart people's smart quality which is very precious and sacred. Its disturbing to see smart entrepreneurs going in the direction of shrewdness which may backfire them anytime..

Why Brain Drain is actually not brain drain

So I have been wondering lately about the whole controversy about brain drain, Satya Nadella etc..Strikingly I came to few conclusions which I thought of sharing it with you all..

So first and foremost I dont believe there is something called brain drain exist..Here is the justification for that..In a world which is bonded by internet and that the information is as liquid as possible I dont think these kind of concepts does have any relevance..Moreover the world is now decentralized upto certain extent.By decentralized I mean the boundaries or the restrictions to immigration or the laws of the land have opened up so that best studies or best jobs are accessible to people from all across the globe..

Moving ahead I feel when a person who has built substantial amount of knowledge and expertise etc in certain domain there is always a reason to scale even higher..For that person to be surrounded by people who are at par with the same intellect or same thought process is also equally important..Sometimes these things a domestic environment can not provide..And its simple because of the number of people that might be interested in similar stuffs which is "too niche" for common people and they cant relate to what it is all about..And if that happens the person has all the reason to be in a place where he/she can be with people similar to him/her and pursue similar ambitions..By all means sometimes it may also be that when a person studies a futuristic technology in say University of Pennsyvenia, he/she will not be having that niche subject matter back home or similar jobs attached to his research..I wont see that as brain drain, simply because if a person has evolved so much to make such level of intellect he/she deserves a better life for himself or for his next generation for that matter..

No need to say back home there will be mediocracy which will be waiting for him/her..Which can be frightening for a person of excellance..

Global movement is interesting actually..White people marrying brown guys or brown people marrying white guys etc..By all means even I see foreigners settling down in India for various reason whether they find India is a land of spirituality or all that stuff..But the point here is the amount at which west is having a technological revolution perhaps people who have liberal background from west dont feel they fit in a place like US.And exceptional people from India who can equally contribute to the revolution have all the reason to join the west. And this is well justified because if they pursue a dream of having a better future for humanity or for that matter a better life for themselve they actually deserve it..One dont need to live a mediocracy life if they feel they deserve a better life..

Many have raised the question about Satya Nadella while being designated as CEO  of Microsoft..I think Satya or anyone for that matter who have such level of capability which can take him to a level of being the CEO of an company like Microsoft, I hardly see why their brain doesnt deserve a place like US..I really wonder if Satya the CEO Of Microsoft wold have been "Satya CEO of Microsoft" had he been lived in India..

Many have built companies like Infosys like Narayana Murthy etc..But my point is not to go and justify why he didn't go to US and accepted being in india itself..But I am just giving you all some of my thoughts on why its comparatively reasonable to be surrounded by equally energetic people or people with same level of intellect..

Do you also feel the same..Please leave a comment and feel free to diagree..

Something about public interview, being modest, humble etc..

How many times we have come across these Bollywood celebrities who tend to pretend someone who they are not or any social/political entities who tries to go to any extent to defend himself/herself from the questions thrown at them by journalist..But i would like to share some of my random thoughts on these stuffs today..

I am one of those people who likes to google or youtube videos of interviews of eminent personalities who have contributed towards humanity ..Put it this way I like knowing more about people like Larry Page,Marc Andreessen, Sean Parker, Mark Zuckerberg, or people who have contributed to our globe towards making it a better place..

And when I come across their interviews its very evident the way they handle these interviews..When I say the way they handle interviews means even at the silliest questions or the pushy questions thrown at them they dont react as opposite to many of the so called average interviews of celebrities I have come across..

They are very modest about the answers and very humbly put forward their point and at the same time making it clear that the interviewer understands what  he/she tries to say..Say about a controversial topic thrown at them about their product or service they will never get defensive about justifying rather accepts what the interviewer says and then tries to give genuine reasons..I see that as very interesting trait about successful people that they never loose temper and even at a very insulting moment they have the ability to be modest and keep themselves calm..

I also like another trait about successful people its that even if in any of such interviews they were insulted or said mean things by the interviewer they never give back to the interviewer..And this  actually makes lot of sense because by doing so they are actually gaining more respect than the interviewer and the interviewer comes across as a mean person..

No wonder why such people are able to billion$  tech business and able to do something great for the humanity..Can we also learn something from them..Do you loose your ability to think when someone insults you..Please feel free to disagree and  leave a comment ..Take care!
